Around 90 members of staff are facing redundancy from the closure of the sites in Newcastle and Peterlee, County Durham.
A spokesperson said the current proposal would see the relocation of the functions on these sites to Stockton.
The company has given staff details of the proposed plans as well as information on possible relocation. Tui said that it expected a “number of staff” to take up new roles in Stockton.
In a statement, Tui said: “We do realise that announcements of this nature can be worrying and to this end we will be working very closely with the staff affected over the coming weeks to understand what this means for them, and to ensure any changes are handled sensitively and fairly. This includes a full consultation with our staff which will commence shortly.”
The company has not revealed the reasons behind the closures. Its main call centre is based in Coventry.
The news comes after Newcastle agency Monster Travel collapsed two weeks ago, leaving 94 employees redundant. << Archive
