British Midlands Airways, or BMI, said Monday it is moving part of its call center operations from India to the U.S., aimed at improving customer service.
The new call center will be run by Discover the World Marketing of Scottsdale, Arizona, where 20 staff will be employed to exclusively answer queries from BMI customers.
The decision follows recent research commissioned by the U.K. airline that found that customers were looking for further support and advice than the Indian call center was able to provide.
The move follows other recent improvements by BMI, including Web site improvements.
