Kashmir is claimed by India and Pakistan and has a generally bleak economic outlook. The opening of the call centre in the city of Srinagar brings much needed jobs and stability to the area.

The Ruia brothers, Mumbai based billionaires own the new company in Srinagar and have also recently opened a call centre in Manchester.

Long term plans for the Kashmiri company are to employ 500 workers to deal with the boom in India’s mobile phone market.
