Child Line call centre closure causes concern

Concerns have been raised since the news was revealed that the Swansea call centre was to close and be moved to Cardiff. Volunteers are worried that the service will suffer when the call centre is closed and only online queries dealt with in Cardiff, leaving only the call centre in Prestatyn running in Wales.

Ms Davies says that people in Swansea Valley and Carmarthenshire use the Welsh language and it takes a great deal of courage for a child to ring, the language barrier may just be too much.

Volunteers have managed to get over 5,000 signatures supporting the campaign in just 2 weeks.
