Childline volunteers in Edinburgh are set to fight call centre closure |

After being open for only three years it was announced that the centre was to close down. Volunteers have made it known to Childline that expertise of scores of counsellors will be lost if the planned closure goes ahead. Some of the counsellors have decades of experience and all this will be lost.
Childline have said that the way that children access their service is changing and the proposed closure has to be part of the on going development of the charity.
A spokesperson for the volunteers said that they cannot stand back and do nothing. He said that the Edinburgh centre is one of excellence for counselling and this expertise must not be lost.
