IQt closed the call centre in June and since then the Montreal staff have been working with the government to get the company to re pay a loan of $670,000 that was given in 2000 and are all signing an official complaint.

Many workers were not paid for their last few weeks of employment, have not had redundancy pay or holiday pay and are starting to feel immense pressure in their finances.

The finance minister, Alain Paquet, hopes to get a court ruling that IQT broke Quebec labour laws which will enable them to force the company to repay the grant.
