Firstsource, which is also in talks with Barclaycard about purchasing its Stockton-on-Tees contact centre, and outsource contract, becomes the latest Indian conglomerate to move into the UK market. Last month Hero’s UK subsidiary purchased Vodafone’s Warrington site.
FirstSource, meanwhile, has been promised a £1.9m sweetener by the area’s Regional Development Agency (RDA), One North East.
Matthew Vallance, Firstsource md said: “Our UK business is continuing to show robust growth and the new Middlesbrough centre will complement our existing UK and international operations.”
The Mumbai-based company has its UK base in London and currently employs almost 2,000 people in Northern Ireland.
