Call Centre Update News >>

Hoseasons has revealed that it is recruiting new call centre staff due to the rising demand it is experiencing for UK holidays.

It is expected that the call centre staff will increase by approximately 15 per cent.

Hoseasons currently has a workforce of 250 at its headquarters in Lowestoft, and now needs additional assistance to deal with the increased volume of calls.

The travel company has claimed that its bookings through travel agents have climbed by 50 per cent over the past two weeks.

Call volumes have also been on the rise, with the busiest days seeing as many as 3,000.

Richard Carrick, the Hoseasons chief executive, said: “The combination of uncertain economic times and a weak currency means that many Britons are rediscovering the exceptional value and high quality of holidaying in the UK,” adding: “It is very pleasing to see that our travel agent partners are sharing in the boom in UK holidays that is taking place this year, and we are now taking these steps to make sure we are ready to deal with this increased demand.

He went on to say: “We have worked hard over the past few years to ensure that we have the right portfolio of products to meet the demands of today’s holidaymakers, which means we are well-placed to take advantage of the increase in families choosing to take their holidays in the UK in 2009.”
