ING Direct creating 100 jobs in Cardiff

 The expansion has seen the company taking additional floor space at its offices at the Callaghan Square development in the centre of the capital.

 
Its investment in Cardiff will support ING Direct's moves towards becoming a full service bank in UK.
 
The bank already employs over 220 people in Cardiff and phase one of the new recruitment activity has already been completed.
 
These new jobs will initially support growth in its rapidly-expanding mortgage and savings businesses.
 
Chief executive of ING Direct Richard Doe said: "Cardiff call centre has a proud record of winning national awards for the level of service we provide our customers with so it makes great business sense to grow here.
 
The £600,000 project took three months to complete and involved creating 150 new workstations, training rooms and installing all the IT infrastructure its call centre requires.
 
ING Direct is one of the UKs leading direct banks with over 1.4m customers. It provides a range of savings, mortgage and home insurance products that are supported by award winning customer service and UK based call centres.
 
It is a wholly owned by Dutch based ING Group, one of the largest financial institutions in the world.
 
The firm's expansion will be officially unveiled on Thursday by Mr Doe.
