The problem is not just in the Birmingham East area, other parts of the West Midlands force are thought to be effected by budget cuts.
Since April, West Midland Police have been asked to save £126 million over four years although some in the force say this way of doing it is a false economy. Making higher paid officers man the phones usually worked by lower paid civilians just doesn’t make sense, say some angry police officers. << Archive
