The company, with seven offices across Tyneside, Durham, Teesside and Yorkshire, has been enlisted by virtual call centre provider Arise Virtual Solutions to fill remote customer service posts in the run-up to Christmas.
Using a self-employment model, Arise workers are set up with their own limited company which handles customer support contracts with large retail clients such as Shop Direct.
Temp-Team says Arise’s recruitment drive is a boost to the North East’s customer service industry after 900 workers at Shop Direct’s call centre in Sunderland were made redundant as the facility closed earlier this year.
Temp Team’s managing director Julie Cummings said: “The Arise concept is that they have the IT infrastructure to set people up working in their own homes. Contact centres have a lot of stigma now in the UK and the common belief is that they employ a young demographic, which can put off many people who would be well-suited to customer service.”<< Archive
