Jobs shift from Scotland to Wales
Almost 200 jobs could be cut at Barclaycard's call centre on Merseyside as the firm considers moving work abroad.
The firm said the work currently undertaken by staff at Wavertree technology park could be done by "overseas partners".
The firm said 197 members of staff were warned of the proposals on Wednesday.
It said plans was still subject to consultation and it hoped there would be opportunities for deployment.
They also expect to transfer some staff to Barclaycard at Kirby.
A spokesman said: "The proposed changes are being made as part of Barclaycard's ongoing programme of improving day-to-day operational efficiency so that it can re-invest in continuing to deliver good value products and innovative services to its customers."
Some staff in Northampton and Teesside have also been told of the proposals, the spokesman said. << Archive
