Ozzy Trade Minister urges consumers to overload call centre scammers

The latest illegal scam to residents in Australia seems to be cold callers posing as government officials promising refunds of overpaid taxes if customers will just pay a fee into their bank account!

Scam calling has doubled in 2001 and Mr Roberts is asking consumers to “fight fire with fire.”

He is suggesting that customers keep the callers on the phone for as long as possible tying up their lines and also bombarding them with so many calls their system melts down.
