Public appeal may save Isle of Wight 999 call centre

Geoff Lumley is asking the islands council to revisit its decision to merge the 999 call centre with the emergency control room of the Surrey Fire Service.

Fears have been raised by the public that the 999 call centre service will suffer by not being local and benefiting from local knowledge of the people and the island.
