AN EDINBURGH call-centre which specialises in multi-lingual staff has won a European award.

The Sykes Global Services contact centre has been named the best in Scotland by the Call Centre Management Association, and was one of nine European companies awarded the European Confederation of Contact Centre Organisations Trophy 2008.

The company employs 700 workers in Scotland, and senior accounts manager Marco Kelly and team leader Barrie Wilkins, both from Edinburgh, were also shortlisted for the CCMA Awards.

Sykes was also nominated as a finalist in the Customer Focus category for helping US-based CareerBuilder establish a European-wide business network in 14 national markets working in 10 languages in less than twelve months.
