The customer service operation will open in Swansea, Wales in September and the centre will run in conjunction with the airline’s existing site in Crawley, West Sussex.
Julie Southern, Virgin Atlantic chief commercial and financial officer said: ‘Virgin Atlantic is pleased to be opening a new customer service centre based in Swansea, particularly at a time when few companies are announcing an expansion in job opportunities in the UK.
‘We know that Swansea has many experienced customer service staff and we look forward to being able to use their valuable experience to support Virgin Atlantic’s customers.’
Ieuan Wyn Jones, Welsh Assembly Government minister for the economy and transport said: ‘Virgin Atlantic is one of the UK’s leading airlines serving the world’s major cities and it’s excellent news to attract a business of this calibre to Wales.’
The airline will start recruiting later this month. It will fill more than 200 posts over the next two years. << Archive
